CITYSEARCH Swooping into the garment district like a comfort-food superhero, this hiply outfitted, brightly colored storefront serves up mac-and-cheese mixes from the homey (four cheese, with cheddar, asiago, mozzarella and Parmigiano-Reggiano) to the highbrow (lobster Thermidor, with lobster chunks, brie and mascarpone). There's even a low-fat variety among the dozen choices. All are served with or without breadcrumbs in two sizes, the mini mac and the mega mac. Mac-and-cheese nuggets and crispy linguine continue the noodle-y theme. (Read more)
MENUPAGES Supermac is the absolute best NY has to offer. The Macburger and the French Onion are my favs! The deserts are spectacular and definitely should be ordered to compliment the mac&cheese. I've only got the delivery service, so I can't comment on the restaurant. (Read more)
BLOG CHELSEA With so many fast food franchises sprouting up in Chelsea, Seventh Avenue is beginning to look like a food court at the mall. One of the newest, Supermac, a tiny storefront between 30th and 29th Streets, specializes in mac ‘n’ cheese. But they do it well. Their menu sports 11 different versions–everything from the classic elbows with cheddar, to an angus beef with cheese, tomatoes and onions. There’s even a Lobster Therimdore with brie and mascarpone. The cheese is just right–not runny or chalky. A whole wheat variety is available for those non-purist types. Neither the space nor the decor invites a sit down dinner, but they deliver. Not only that, but when I placed my order in person, they prepared mine before the delivery orders. Now that’s service. –Sherry Mazzocchi

NEW YORK PRESS Supermac’s a tiny, shiny orange place set to brighten up a dreary part of Chelsea. The new flavors it brings to the budget eater’s staple could even inspire a lowbrow eater like myself to shelve the boxes of Kraft for good. (Read more)
